Well, the curse words were so loud that we could hear them during the 8th inning Phillies' 1:00 Tuesday game against the Houston Astros.

The issue was, to Charlie Manuel, umpire Bob Davidson got in the way of catcher Brian Schneider on a dropped third strike.  Batter Jason Castro advanced to first base.

Suspending a manager is pretty common.  The public suspension of an umpire is very rare, and could be a good sign for the game that umpires finally are being held accountable for their actions.  The charge for Davidson, according to this USA Today report is that Davidson was suspended for "repeated violations of the Office of the Commissioner's standards for situation handling."

Hopefully, this leads to better umpiring.

Note: the USA Today report erroneously identifies Astros catcher Jason Castro as Juan Castro.
