The wait is finally over. Placido Polanco is finally a member of the 2,000 hits club, the 269th member in MLB history to be exact. Polanco hit a two-run home run to reach the milestone. It took Polly 15 years to reach it, but that's okay.
What's better than achieving a milestone like that with a home run to break open the game? Polanco gave the Phillies a 5-1 lead in the 8th inning with his home run and received a helluva curtain call.
I'm glad that Polly finally reached 2,000 hits. Maybe the Phillies will start selling "PP2K" tee-shirts now.
