Per bow tie enthusiast Ken Rosenthal's report, GM Ruben Amaro Jr. indicated that injured 2B Chase Utley continues to progress and could start jogging in the "next couple of days."
The key Amaro quote may have been this: "I think we’re going to get him back. It’s just a matter of when. We’re willing to be very patient with him. I want him for July-August-September, hopefully October."
Even with a Wilson Valdez-sized hole near the bottom of their lineup, the Phillies should be able to remain in contention. There is no need to rush Utley back, before he is ready.
