On the same day a report was released that Howie Roseman had made a major offer to acquire cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Jaguars, a report has surfaced that he has done the same with Patrick Peterson.

Ben Natan of Bleeding Green Nation reports that Roseman offered a first-round pick and receiver Nelson Agholor in exchange for Peterson.

The offer would seem to be quite a bit.

Despite his recent struggles, Agholor is the third best receiver on the Eagles roster and of the two above him, Alshon Jeffery has been ineffective and DeSean Jackson has played one game this season.

The Eagles figure to be mid-to-late in the first round and would be anticipating being at the end of the round if they were to acquire Peterson.

For his part, Peterson has been one of the top corners in the league since arriving. Throughout his eight seasons in the NFL, he has compiled 387 tackes, 23 interceptions, 12 fumble recoveries, 46 defensed passes and three sacks.

He has also been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times, made the NFL Top 100 list eight times and been a First-Team All-Pro three times.

Peterson would immediately become the Eagles top corner and would allow the team to play Darby and Mills (should they choose to) as the other two corners making Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones and Orlando Scandrick back-ups along with Avonte Maddox and Cre’Von LeBlanc when they return.

Attempting a trade for Peterson seems to be becoming a yearly idea for the Eagles and their fans.

Peterson is now 29 and is under contract in 2020 with a $13,184,588 cap hit.
