It was during the Eagles press conference on Monday that we learned of the slew of major injuries that ailed Jason Kelce throughout another season of being the top center in the league in 2018.

Getting much less attention is another injury that was suffered during the 2018 campaign, but just came to light today.

Mike Kaye of NJ.com reports that Eagles undrafted rookie and leading rusher Josh Adams underwent labrum surgery following the conclusion of the Eagles season.

The shoulder issue explains a lot.

Fans may recall that Adams had his carries drop significantly at the end of the season. He then had just one carry across both the wild card and divisional rounds despite a run game that appeared ineffective.

While Adams hoped to play through the injury, he was unable to do so.

Because he was hoping to play, Adams put off the surgery until after the season was officially over. The delay makes it almost certain that Adams will miss time during this Spring’s workouts, however the hope is that he will be ready for the regular season.

Looking at all of the major injuries that limited Eagles players during the 2018 season, Adams becomes the 39th of the 72 players that were with the team during the regular season. That’s 54.17% of the players. Hopefully the offseason conditioning that started today will help curb that issue in 2019.

Adams started the season on the practice squad, but had 120 carries for 511 yards and three touchdowns in 2018. He added seven receptions for 58 yards.
