With Maikel Franco and J.T. Realmuto not in the starting lineup (rest), the Philadelphia Phillies (8-5) and RHP Vince Velasquez will look to capture their third series victory in a Sunday matinee series rubber match against the Miami Marlins (4-11) and RHP Jose Urena at Marlins Park.
Infielder Scott Kingery and catcher Andrew Knapp will make their second starts of the season. Kingery will start at the hot corner for the first time in 2019; he made eight starts at the position during his 2018 rookie campaign. Velasquez will also make his second start, after allowing a pair of runs spanning six innings so far in one start and one relief outing.
Marlins rookie outfielder Austin Dean had a career night in his club’s 10-3 victory over the Phillies on Saturday, snapping their five-game losing streak. The right fielder was a triple shy of the cycle, as he went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBI. Dean’s four hits and five RBI set both career-high marks.

In the ninth, center fielder Odubel Herrera laced a RBI single, followed by Nick Williams slugging a two-run double, preventing the Phillies from being shut out for the first time this season. Kingery went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and one run scored, raising his season slash line to .500/.583/.700. Right fielder Bryce Harper walked, extending his on-base streak to all 13 Phillies games this season. Phillies starter RHP Zach Eflin, meanwhile, suffered his first loss, allowing six runs on 10 hits over just four innings and 81 pitches.
Excluding their 9-1 series-opening victory over the Marlins on Friday, the Phillies have been outscored 35-10 in their three other games since Tuesday (6-10, 1-15 and 3-10). A win on Sunday would mark the Phillies’ first series win in Miami since August 31-Sept. 3, 2017.
