Sixers Sign Corey Brewer To 10-Day Contract

The Philadelphia 76ers have had an open roster spot for quite a while and this week, they held a pair of workout sessions with veteran free agents and G League players. They’ve finally filled that open roster spot. Well, for the next 10 days at least. First reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Sixers have agreed to a 10-day contract with veteran forward, Corey Brewer.

The Sixers have confirmed the move in a press release. According to Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice, Brewer will be available for the team’s game on Tuesday against Minnesota.

Brewer, 32, hasn’t played in the NBA this season. During the 2017-18 campaign, he appeared in 54 games for the Lakers and 18 with the Thunder. Combined, he averaged 5.3 points on 44.9 percent shooting. He isn’t known for his range, posting a 28.3 percent mark from beyond in 783 career games.

Despite the lack of offensive potential, Brewer adds some defensive versatility to the Sixers bench unit that has struggled on that end of the ball for the majority of the season.
