The Philadelphia Phillies' massive free agent interest list just got larger. According to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo, the club is among at least nine "early suitors" for free agent and 2018 World Series champion, RHP Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi, who will turn 29 in February, yielded just four earned runs, while striking out 16 of his 85 batters faced this past postseason with the Boston Red Sox. In three relief appearances in the World Series, Eovaldi allowed just one earned run, while striking out six batters through eight innings.
Cafardo named the Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants as the other "early suitors" for Eovaldi, with more teams "likely."
Per Cafardo, Eovaldi would "love" to stay in Boston, and that the Red Sox will take their "best shot" to retain him.
Eovaldi is a seven-year Major League veteran who spent his first four seasons in the National League with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins. Eovaldi went 23-11 with a 4.45 ERA spanning 51 games with the New York Yankees in 2015 and 2016, and missed the entire 2017 season after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery. Eovaldi's first Tommy John surgery occurred during his junior year of high school.
In the 2018 regular season, Eovaldi went 3-4 with a 4.26 ERA spanning 10 starts with the Tampa Bay Rays, and 3-3 with a 3.33 ERA over 12 starts with the Red Sox.
