Just over one month after leaving the Philadelphia Phillies organization as its director of player development, Joe Jordan has received inquiries from "several clubs" regarding a potential front office role, according to former ESPN scribe Jerry Crasnick.
Jordan, who held the player development role with the Phillies since October 2011, credited Ruben Amaro Jr., Benny Looper, David Montgomery, Pat Gillick, Dallas Green, Charlie Manuel and Andy MacPhail as those who helped "shape" him. Per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, Jordan reportedly gained frustration in his role after Bryan Minniti received a promotion to assistant general manager of player development, amateur and international scouting, in December 2017.

Jordan joined the Phillies in October 2011, replacing former farm director Chuck LaMar. He initially served under former general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. and former assistant general manager Benny Looper, who provided Jordan almost complete autonomy in the operation of the player development department. Klentak and Minniti sought a more collaborative process, while Jordan thought the increased oversight hindered his ability to make even the day-to-day decisions that he had made in the past.
One source said Jordan thought the goals of the department had changed over the past few years.
Jordan is still listed as the Phillies' director of player development, despite his September departure. Along with Minniti, Steve Noworyta and Dana Parks remain on the staff respectively as the special assistant and coordinator of player development. The club has yet to hire a replacement.
Phillies Vice President and General Manager Matt Klentak told reporters at the time of Jordan's resignation that he was planning to "pursue other opportunities this fall." It appears those opportunities are starting to roll in, and fast.
