After serving Philadelphia Phillies fans for 15 seasons and over 1,200 games at Citizens Bank Park, McFadden's Restaurant & Saloon will close its doors for the final time sometime next month, per their Wednesday Instagram announcement.

Located at the third base gate, or behind section 128, of Citizens Bank Park, McFadden's opened in 2004 along with the venue. While McFadden's has thrived within the South Philadelphia stadium complex, XFINITY Live! opening across the intersection in 2012 — along with declining Phillies attendance — both likely contributed to its demise.

Sunday, Sept. 30, will be McFadden's last Phillies game, however the restaurant and saloon will remain open into October, including for the Philadelphia Eagles' Sunday, Oct. 7, NFC Championship rematch against the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field.

According to a Phillies source close to SportsTalkPhilly.com, P.J. Whelihan's was planning to establish a greater presence inside Citizens Bank Park as part of the ongoing stadium renovations and upgrades. The pub debuted at an Ashburn Alley stand close to the left field gate during the 2018 season, and was looking to expand into either the downstairs or upstairs locations of Harry the K's.

Perhaps P.J.'s will now move into the vacated McFadden's location instead.
