Phillies to Open, Close 2019 Season at Home

By Matt Rappa, Sports Talk Philly editor

While the 2018 Philadelphia Phillies continue to play for its first postseason berth in seven seasons, fans can start to plan out next season's road trip itineraries, as the club released its 2019 schedule Wednesday afternoon.

The Phillies will begin next season home against the Atlanta Braves on March 28, and close out home on Sept. 29 against the Miami Marlins. As NBC Sports Philadelphia's Corey Seidman notes, the Phillies will play the Braves just three times over their first 68 games — the season-opening series — and 16 times over their final 94  games to conclude the season.

The Phillies will partake in 20 interleague games — mostly against the American League central — as they take on the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox. The club will also play four games against the Boston Red Sox, two on the road August 20-21, and two at home Sept. 14-15.
