Report: Sixers have interest in Jamal Crawford

The Sixers are looking to fill out their roster after failing to convince LeBron James to take his talents to Broad Street. 

The Sixers were active early on Monday morning, re-signing J.J. Redick to a one-year deal. Now Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the team is expressing in interest in the NBA's reigning Teammate of the Year:

The #Sixers have expressed some interest in acquiring @JCrossover in free agency, according to sources. Like I tweeted out moments ago, he would a great addition if they’re able to get him.

Jamal Crawford – a three-time sixth man of the year – spent last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves where he averaged 10.3 points per game in 20.7 minutes a night. Crawford specializes as an iso scorer who is most comfortable shooting in the mid-range. 

Crawford has been linked to the defending champion Golden State Warriors this offseason with Crawford reportedly considering signing for the veteran's minimum to join the Warriors.

While Crawford is considering Golden State, he may have mutual interest in joining the Sixers. The 18-year veteran liked a separate tweet from Keith Pompey discussing the fit of Crawford in Philadelphia:

Crawford would provide the Sixers with veteran leadership and stability off of the bench as well as not breaking the bank and likely only signing a one-year deal that would allow the team to maintain roster flexibility for future offseasons.
