Philadelphia Phillies No. 3 overall pick out of the 2018 amateur draft, third baseman Alec Bohm, made his professional debut in Tuesday afternoon's GCL Phillies West season opener against GCL Yankees East at the Carpenter Complex in Clearwater, Florida.

During the first pitch of his first at-bat facing 19-year old Venezuelan prospect, Anderson Munoz — Bohm hit a RBI, first-inning triple as the two-hole hitter. The 21-year-old, Omaha, Nebraska, native's professional debut came exactly one week after the club introduced him alongside Director of Amateur Scouting Johnny Almaraz at Citizens Bank Park.

In his junior and final season at Wichita State, Bohm recorded a school-record three grand slams, a 12-game hitting streak from April 4-22, 24 multiple-hit games, 13 multiple-RBI games and two multiple-home run games. While Bohm is known for his power, he also has succeeded in the field, posting a collegiate career .923 fielding percentage on 33 errors.
