Eagles excercise fifth-year option on Nelson Agholor

The Philadelphia Eagles had a number of standout stars from the 2017-18 season en route to their first Super Bowl Championship in franchise history. One of the best stories from the year was the performance of 2015 first-round pick Nelson Agholor. After compiling under 700 yards and three touchdowns in his first two seasons in Philadelphia, Agholor had a breakout year in 2017-18, tallying career-high's in receptions (62), receiving yards (768) and touchdowns (8). It's no surprise that the Eagles decided to pick up Nelson's fifth-year option in his rookie contract, keeping him in Philadelphia through the 2019-20 season.
“Nelson has shown how productive he can be and how versatile he is,” head coach Doug Pederson said after the 2018 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday. “He really stepped up for us last season. He came into his own. He’s got a lot more in him and I’m excited to see what he can do in this offense.”
Agholor, 24, ranked first in the NFL in third-down yards per reception and had a phenomenal Super Bowl performance against the Patriots, reeling in nine passes for 84 yards. He totaled 15 catches for 167 yards with eight of those receptions converting for first downs.
