By Paul Bowman, Sports Talk Philly Staff Cornerback Daryl Worley arrested

For the second time this offseason, a Philadelphia Eagles player has been placed in handcuffs.

Cornerback Daryl Worley was reportedly arrested outside the team’s facility. He had fallen asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, blocking the road.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that the arrest occurred as a result of Worley get aggravated with the police.

Mike Garafolo, also of the NFL Network is reporting that the incident occurred at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, just outside the Eagles practice facility.

The Eagles made two trades earlier this offseason. The first sent wideout Torrey Smith to the Panthers in exchange for Worley. The second sent receiver Marcus Johnson to the Seahawks in exchange for Michael Bennet with the exchange of some draft picks.

With Bennett already having been arrested in Houston on charges for injuring the elderly, the Eagles are not happy to see that their second new addition arrested as well. The Eagles are a team that is focused on the locker room – and arrests don’t fit that mold.

Since it is the second arrest this offseason, the Eagles may be tough on Worley. Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Worley may soon find himself without a job.

The trades the Eagles made that had once looked like steals appear to be souring. They did not give much up for the corner – the team would likely have released Torrey Smith either way, however this is not something any fan wants to see.

The Eagles were thought to be exploring trades of Ronald Darby for draft picks with their extensive cornerback depth. If Worley is released, that decision becomes far more difficult.

UPDATE: The Eagles have officially released Worley.
