Eagles Roster Moves: Birds Releasing James Bradberry

On Monday, the Eagles announced they’d be releasing Darius Slay. On Tuesday, the team announced their moving on from the other corner that got them to Super Bowl LVII.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the team will be releasing James Bradberry with a post-June 1 designation.
The #Eagles are releasing veteran DB James Bradberry, source said. He will be designated as a post-June 1 release.

Bradberry has been an absolute pro in his time with Philadelphia.
He was basically an All-Pro level corner in 2022 when the Eagles went to Super Bowl LVII and then was hit with a rough holding call (unlike any other in the game) that wound up helping the Chiefs beat the Eagles on a final drive.
He had a tough 2023 season, but despite some fans lashing out at him he continues to speak highly of the fanbase and tried competing for a role as a safety this season before he wound up on IR, where he spent the remainder of the season helping to form Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean into the starting corners that ultimately helped dominate in Super Bowl LIX.
By designating his release post-June 1, the Eagles will have an extra $2 million in cap space this season and the 32-year-old can look to find another team to sign with. Like the Slay contract, it also saves the team additional cap beyond the 2025 season.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if, after his playing career is done, Bradberry finds his way back to the Eagles and finds himself on the coaching staff following his 2024 season behind the scenes (assuming he has an interest in a coaching career after he’s done playing).
