NFL Free Agency: Milton Williams Gets Better Deal From Patriots

Not so fast.
Early on in the legal contact period, the news came that Milton Williams was headed to the Panthers.
Just about an hour later, that deal is nixed.
With a reported $20 million AAV from Carolina, New England has reportedly swept in with a better offer at $26 million AAV.
Based on last year’s free agency, that would have been the second-highest comp pick after Kirk Cousins’ deal, so it seems safe to say that the Eagles are in line for an extra third-round pick in the 2026 draft from the comp pick formula.
Reports indicate the deal is for four years ($104 million).
The deal cannot be finalized until Wednesday, so there’s always a chance things could change – which has already happened in Williams’ apparently giant market.
