Jimmy Rollins to headline 2025 Phillies Wall of Fame Inductees

The Philadelphia Phillies announced former shortstop Jimmy Rollins will be inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame. The ceremony will take place prior to the Phillies’ August 1 game against the Detroit Tigers and serve as the kickoff of the club’s Alumni Weekend festivities.
J-Roll spent 15 of his 17 Big League seasons with the Phillies and was the tone setter for the club’s incredible run from 2007 through 2011 which included five consecutive NL East titles, two National League pennants, and the 2008 World Series Championship. In addition to these team accolades, Rollins accumulated a plethora of personal accolades including three National League All-Star selections, four Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, a Silver Slugger Award, and the 2007 National League Most Valuable Player Award.

Since officially returning during the 2019 MLB regular season, Rollins has served as an analyst for Turner Sports Major League Baseball broadcasts and recently returned to the Fightins as a guest instructor for spring training. Rollins will be joined on the Wall of Fame by former general manager Ed Wade, who was instrumental in drafting Rollins in the 1996 MLB June Amateur Draft.
Not always the most popular because he wasn’t willing to “pull the trigger” on massive trades, Wade was responsible for the creating the club’s nucleus including drafting Pat Burrell, Chase Utley, and Cole Hamels. It was Wade who hired Charlie Manuel prior to the 2004 MLB regular season, Manuel would ultimately lead the team to the 2008 World Series title and hold the record for most managerial wins in franchise history.
