Philadelphia:  We are a couple of weeks away from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) putting on one of their headline Pay Per View events in Philadelphia for the first time on Sunday, April 6, from the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University.

Here is where things stand for the AEW’s first Philly Pay Per View Event:

The Main Event:
AEW World Championship Match: Jon Moxley vs. Swerve Strickland

Some of the other headline matches on the card that are confirmed:

More matches will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.

This is not the first time AEW has come to Philly; it has been in town for the headline weekly show called AEW Dynamite, which is every Wednesday at 8 PM on TBS.

This first time in Philly was October 2019 and the headline match was Chris Jericho defeating Darby Allin in a Philadelphia Street Fight for the AEW World Title, where Jericho was the champion going into the match.

AEW returned to Philly in October 2021 & the headline match was AEW World Title #1 Contendership Casino Ladder Match, which saw Adam Page make a shocking return. He would go on to win the match & earned a future title match.

In October 2023, AEW returned to Philadelphia i- the final time for Sting. AEW CEO Tony Khan had a special gift for Sting & it would be the Goat of Pro Wrestling, Nature Boy Ric Flair, making a surprise appearance.
