The Philadelphia Phillies provided the following updates on the status of their injured players including starting pitcher Ranger Suarez, rehabbing pitcher Andrew Painter, and outfielder Brandon Marsh.

4/20/2025: OF Cal Stevenson Recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley

  • Cal Stevenson has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take the place of the injured Brandon Marsh
  • Stevenson is slashing .192/.328/.289 with a triple, two doubles, and five RBI for the IronPigs

 

4/20/2025: OF Brandon Marsh (right hamstring strain)

  • Phillies have placed Brandon Marsh on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain
  • Marsh has been mired in a horrific slump since April 1
  • The outfielder has yet to record a hit for the month of April
  • The move is retroactive to Thursday, April 17
  • ESTIMATED RETURN: Early May

 

4/15/2025: LHP Ranger Suarez (lower back stiffness, 15-day injured list)

  • Suarez pitched three innings for Single-A Clearwater on Thursday, April 10
  • He was originally scheduled to pitch on Tuesday, April 15 however that start was pushed to Wednesday, April 16 in West Palm Beach
  • Suarez is expected to throw four innings or 55 pitches
  • ESTIMATED RETURN: Late April or early May

 

4/15/2025: RHP Andrew Painter (Tommy John surgery rehabilitation)

  • Painter was assigned to Single-A Clearwater as part of his continued rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery
  • The Phils’ top prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Painter made his 2025 debut on Friday, April 11 for Clearwater
  • Painter went 1-1/3 innings and allowed two runs on two hits
  • He did touch 100-MPH on the radar gun
  • The start was his first regular season start since September 2022
  • Painter is expected to pitch on Friday, April 18 for the Threshers
  • Painter’s expected workload is three innings or 50 pitches
  • ESTIMATED RETURN: Late July or early August (MLB)

 

4/15/2025: UTL Weston Wilson (strained left oblique, 10-day injured list)

  • Wilson began his rehab assignment on April 8 for Single-A Clearwater
  • He was moved to Triple-A Lehigh Valley and is expected to start and play all nine innings on Tuesday, April 15
  • Wilson must be placed on the activated and placed on the MLB roster by April 28 or he will need to be optioned to the minors
  • ESTIMATED RETURN: Late April
