Flyers Postgame Report: Blue Jackets Blank Flyers in Home Finale

The home opener for the Flyers back in October was a 3-0 shutout loss to the Vancouver Canucks. On Tuesday night, the Flyers season at Wells Fargo Center ended the same way it started.

The Flyers lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-0, to cap off the home portion of the 2024-25 season. Columbus remains in the playoff race for another day as a result.


The Flyers had the better of the chances in the first period, though shots were even, 9-9, through 20 minutes. The Flyers also had two power plays go by the wayside.

Early in the second, Columbus broke through for the game’s first goal. Dante Fabbro fired a shot over Sam Ersson for his eighth goal of the season to make it 1-0 at 2:32.

Late in the period, Columbus added to the lead on the power play. Kent Johnson scored his 24th goal of the season, slipping a shot through Ersson to make it 2-0 at 17:01.

Through two periods, shots were 23-21 Columbus.

At 13:26 of the third, the Blue Jackets put the game away. Adam Fantilli scored off the rush for his 30th goal of the season to make it 3-0.

Jet Greaves continued his hot streak, making 29 saves in a shutout win. Ersson made 31 saves on 34 shots in the loss.

Zach Werenski and Sean Monahan each had two assists for Columbus.

The Flyers close out the 2024-25 season on Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres at 7 p.m.
