Rutgers Scarlet Knights men’s basketball coach Steve Pikiell received some more good news this spring. For the second time in a about a week, the Scarlet Knights have learned they will have another player returning to Banks. Forward Bryce Dortch confirmed he will remain with the Rutgers program after being thrust into the starting lineup due to a slew of injuries.

The Chesnut Hill, MA native appeared in 12 games for the Scarlet Knights in 2024-25 averaging 1.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in six-and-a-half minutes per game, according to Sports Reference College Basketball. His season high in points came in Rutgers thrilling 95-85 win over Southern California when he recorded nine points in 14-minutes played. Originally a high three-star recruit out of Brimmer and May School, Dortch selected Rutgers over offers from Bryant, Marquette, Providence, and Seton Hall.

Dortch joins Dylan Grant who announced his return to Piscataway earlier this month.
