As the NHL gets set to unveil their slate of outdoor games for next season, the Flyers will get in on the action once again.
They'll be hosting cross-state rival Pittsburgh at Lincoln Financial Field in February 2019 for the NHL Stadium Series, as announced by Dan Patrick on NBC's Football Night in America telecast.
Dan Patrick said: “We’re pleased to announce that next season, the Penguins will be playing outside in Philadelphia. The Flyers will face Pittsburgh at the home of the Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field – February 23, 2019, as part of the NHL’s Stadium Series."

The matchup is obviously a rematch (nearly two years to the day) of last year's Stadium Series matchup at Heinz Field, which the Flyers dropped, 4-2. It had been speculated since 2016, and is now official.
It will be the first outdoor game in Philadelphia since the Winter Classic in 2012, and the first hockey game at Lincoln Financial Field. The Orange and Black are 0-2-1 all-time in outdoor games, to boot.
So far, the NHL has confirmed one other outdoor game for the 2018-19 campaign, featuring Chicago hosting Boston at Notre Dame Stadium for the Winter Classic. Three more outdoor games are set for this season — the NHL 100 Classic between Ottawa and Montreal in Ottawa on Dec. 16, the Winter Classic between Buffalo and the NY Rangers at Citi Field on Jan. 1 and the Stadium Series between Washington and Toronto at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. on March 3.
The news also comes the day of the annual Flyers Wives Carnival, making it a pretty productive day for the Flyers.
For what it's worth, Pittsburgh teams (AKA just the Steelers) are 0-2 all-time at the Linc.
