National Commentators react to Carson Wentz’s Monday Night statement
By: Jesse Larch, Sports Talk Philly editor
Carson Wentz spent his Monday Night showing the world that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with a four touchdown performance and multiple jaw-dropping plays.
Wentz also opened the eyes of some prominent analysts across the country with another MVP-worthy showing.
Albert Breer of the Monday Morning Quarterback and NBC Sports Boston was not ready to unseat a living legend, but did give Wentz some praise on Monday Night:
To me, Tom Brady's the league MVP through seven weeks. But Carson Wentz is absolutely giving chase.

Rich Eisen of NFL Network felt differently than Breer, saying that Wentz is his favorite to win the MVP:
Leads league in TD passes, QB of only 6-win team. If that’s Brady, Brees or Aaron, we are talking MVP. Time to talk that way for @cj_wentz

Super Bowl champion head coach and analyst for NBC's Football Night in America Tony Dungy believes that Wentz is the key to the Eagles success so far this season:
Carson Wentz continues to make impressive plays. The Eagles are playing with so much confidence and he is the reason for it.

Wentz also made a positive impression on Hall of Fame quarterback, Super Bowl champion and NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner:
That kid @cj_wentz is making plays – fun to watch – tough, athletic & great arm talent! Philly the future is bright!

The Eagles all-time leading rusher and current Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy let the world know how he felt about his old team's new quarterback:
Sheesh Carson SUPER NICE !!

Max Kellerman of ESPN First Take placed himself firmly on the Wentz Wagon after seeing the sophomore quarterback on Monday Night Football:
#Wentz has every quality necessary to be best QB in game. #MNF

Colin Cowherd of the Herd and FS1 was feeling a little better about his preseason prediction that the Eagles were a dark horse Super Bowl team:
Jesus, Wentz is special.

Even the Cowboy-loving Wentz pessimist Skip Bayless of FS1's Undisputed had to give Wentz his props:
Wentzylvania. Wentz in a lifetime. Carson Wins. That's it: 2017 belongs to Carson Wentz. So far.
