For as long as most anyone can remember, the NBA All-Star Game has pitted the Eastern Conference All-Stars against the Western Conference All-Stars. On Tuesday, the National Basketball Association announced a new format for February's All-Star Game in Los Angeles, which will have two captains selecting their players, playground style. The captains will be the two leading vote-getters in their respective conferences. Last year, LeBron James received the most votes in the East and Stephen Curry in the West. The game will be charity driven as well.
There will still be 12 players selected from each conference. Five players from each conference will be selected as starters with fan vote being worth 50 percent, player vote worth 25 percent and media vote 25 percent. Seven reserves for each team will be picked by each conference's head coaches.
