If you are a sports fan and have social media, it's not surprising that 75 percent of what people are talking about these days are anthem protests, disrespecting the flag, equality and unity just to name a few. In addition, people are talking about whether or not President Donald Trump has taken the right approach to the topic, posting his thoughts and views on it via Twitter.
This past Monday at Sixers media day, pretty much each player was asked of their opinions on Trump and the national anthem protesting seen in the NFL. JJ Redick said being anti-Trump is like "eating breakfast in the morning" to him. Meanwhile, Ben Simmons took a much more direct approach in an interview with Fox Sports Austrailia, using some select words to describe the leader of the United States of America.
With the NBA preseason set to get underway next week, it will be interesting to see what teams do, if anything, in response to the President's comments during the national anthem.
