Final: Marlins 6, Phillies 5 (10 innings)
MIAMI—Caught in a turbulent sea of trade rumors, Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon showed the Phillies on Monday night what they might be missing.
The Phils have been linked in trade rumors to both players, as well as star outfielder Christian Yelich, and Monday night's 10-inning loss showed the sheer value of the Marlins' stars.
Stanton slugged two titanic blasts and came very to close to a third, which would have broken a 5-5 tie in the seventh. Gordon lined a single into right with the bases loaded to walk it off for Miami in the tenth.

Stanton showed off his effortless pop for the first time in Monday's game with a line drive to deep left that got out in a hurry, scoring Dee Gordon. Eickhoff allowed the next two runners to reach base, too, but settled down to get all three outs in the first.
The Phillies showed off a rare piece of clutch hitting in the third against Marlins starter Tom Koehler, plating four runs with two outs. Freddy Galvis doubled home César Hernández, who was impressive in his first game back from the disabled list. Maikel Franco lined a ball up the middle to score Galvis. Odúbel Herrera worked a walk off of a long at-bat. And Nick Williams put the Phillies ahead with a two-run double to deep center.
Eickhoff was dinged up more in the fifth when Stanton hit a solo shot and Bour followed with a two-run blast that put Miami ahead.
After Junichi Tazawa retired the Phillies in order in the sixth, Kyle Barraclough struggled in the seventh. He walked Brock Stassi and plunked Cameron Perkins, then Andrés Blanco bunted into a forceout at second. With runners on the corners, Hernández lifted a ball deep enough to the outfield to score the run and tie the game.
A big moment came in the bottom of the seventh as Stanton lifted a ball to left-center that by all accounts looked like it was headed toward being his third homer of the contest. Perkins and Herrera both ended up under it at the wall, twisting themselves together, but Perkins managed to make the play with Herrera hanging all over him.
David Phelps loaded the bases in the top of the eighth, but struck out both Stassi and pinch-hitter Daniel Nava looking to end the inning.
In the bottom of the eighth, Marcell Ozuna appeared to head way outside the baseline in attempting to avoid Hernández at second, but the umpires made no call to intervene. Ricardo Pinto relieved Adam Morgan and induced a J.T. Realmuto groundout to end the inning with the score still tied.
Closer A.J. Ramos set down the Phillies in the ninth, allowing just a leadoff single to Tommy Joseph. In the bottom of the inning, Ricardo Pinto loaded the bases and the Phillies went to a five-man infield, bringing in Héctor Neris. Neris struck out Yelich and got Ozuna to hit one off of Neris that rebounded to Joseph at first, who tagged out Ozuna to end the inning.
Reliever Drew Steckenrider cruised in the top of the tenth, pitching a 1-2-3 frame. The Phils countered with Mark Leiter Jr., their sixth reliever of the game.
Leiter allowed Derek Dietrich to get to third on a triple with one out, intentionally walked Realmuto and JT Riddle to load the bases. A.J. Ellis grounded into a force at home, but Dee Gordon lined a single to right to win it for Miami.
The Phils hope that Vince Velasquez will be ready to make his return from the disabled list Tuesday night at 7:10. A starter hasn't been officially announced, but it should be Velasquez who will face lefty Adam Conley.
