Former Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels may no longer pitch for the Philadelphia Phillies. But our area must still bring to him a sense of home for the former World Series MVP. Major League Baseball is currently on their All-Star break. And where did Hamels choose to spend it? The Jersey Shore.
Earlier this afternoon Hamels and his family enjoyed some time at Playland Castaway Cove in Ocean City, New Jersey. He and his family went on several rides and onlookers report that the Hamels seemed to enjoy themselves. Sporting his new mustache, dark glasses, and a baseball cap, Hamels blended right into the crowd, who probably was not expecting to see a Texas Rangers pitcher in South Jersey.
Hamels was an All-Star in 2016, but has not pitched enough to garner consideration in 2017. Hamels recently returned to the Texas Rangers rotation after spending several weeks on the disabled list with an oblique strain. Hamels is 4-0 with a 3.51 earned run average in eight starts in 2017.
