Outfielder Roman Quinn and right-hander Zach Eflin got their respective elbow injuries examined by Philadelphia Phillies team doctors on Wednesday and while Eflin received encouraging news, the same can't be said for Quinn.

Let's start with Eflin. After posting a 2.81 ERA through his first five starts with the Phillies, but allowed 22 earned runs over his final three starts before being sent down to Triple-A. He lasted only four innings in his start on May 26 before leaving with discomfort in his elbow. Luckily, further testing showed that there's no structural damage in Eflin's elbow and he should be back on track to start throwing next week.

Meanwhile, the news regarding Quinn is not so good. He hasn't played more than 93 games in a season and has been plagued by injuries throughout his career. In 2017, Quinn has played 45 games, but injured his elbow sliding back to first base on May 28. After progressing a bit and taking light batting practice in Lehigh Valley, Quinn went to get an MRI on Wednesday and it showed damage to the UCL in his left arm, which is not his throwing arm.

Before hitting the disabled list in 2017, Quinn was hitting .274 with eight doubles, three doubles, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 24 runs scored and 10 steals. His elbow issues could potentially put an end to another disappointing, injury-plagued season for the speedy outfielder.
