If there's any prospect in the Phillies system that needs to get on track, it's their top guy, shortstop J.P. Crawford. Having been the organizations' no. 1 prospect for three straight years, the 22-year-old has shown improvement at pretty much every level after a short adjustment period. That hasn't been the case in Triple-A.

Through 33 games this season, Crawford is slashing .155/.279/.207 with a double, triple, home run, eight RBIs, 14 runs scored, 20 walks and 27 strikeouts. In 120 games at the Triple-A level since last year, he's hitting just .221. While it's easy to get concerned about him, since he hasn't hit above .265 since 2015 in the minors, he's still only 22 years old with a good amount of time to adjust to the Triple-A level.

On Monday night, he hit his first home run of the season for the Ironpigs, their lone run in a 1-0 victory, their 10th in a row.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for Crawford, because the Phillies won't think about giving him a look in the big leagues until he proves he can hit consistently at the Triple-A level. Matt Klentak, Pete Mackanin and company seem more than content with Freddy Galvis at this point, so there's no rush for Crawford's rise to the majors unless injury strikes.

Lehigh Valley continues their series in Rochester tonight at 7:05 p.m.
