From the time he started the Flyers up until his death in April 2016, Ed Snider had given a lot to sports fans in Philadelphia. On Thursday, city officials will provide an all-too-fitting tribute to him.
One stretch of 11th Street down at the Sports Complex, spanning from Pattison Avenue down to Terminal Avenue, will be named "Ed Snider Way" in his honor, according to the Courier-Post's Dave Issac. Comcast-Specator officials and City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson will join the Snider family for the dedication.

That particular stretch of 11th Street Ed Snider Way spans the length of the Wells Fargo Center, as well as the site of the old Spectrum, Xfinity Live.
One of the entrances into Wells Fargo Center on the Broad Street side is named "Zinkoff Boulevard" in honor of the late, great Sixers public address announcer, and now, Snider will receive that honor. Snider will also become the second Flyer with a street named after him in Philadelphia, with Pelle Road and Pelle Circle in the Northeast being named after the late goaltender.
Snider's influence and legacy continues to live on. Naming a street after him just outside the Wells Fargo Center is just the latest example.
