It’s a wonderful feat for an undrafted rookie to make it to the NHL. It would be icing on the cake if he were to record a point and get on the scoresheet in his first NHL game. Being called up from Springfield of the AHL, Al Hill was about to make is NHL debut and also Flyers history.
Rivalies run deep, as usually goes with divisional foes in all sports. The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers rivalry is as old as time, but their AHL teams proved it’s still alive and well on Saturday night, as the Phantoms beat the Wolf Pack, 6-4, in a testy, back-and-forth affair.
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms lost a third straight game for the first time this season on Friday night, falling 3-2 to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
When Flyers rookie forward Travis Konecny was injured there was immediate speculation as to who would get the call up from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Many fans were pleased to hear Jordan Weal was getting the call and would have his chance to make an impression on the Flyers brass.
