World Juniors Update: USA Claims Gold with Shootout Win Over Canada

Troy Terry, the hero from Wednesday’s shootout win over Russia in the semi-finals, scored the lone goal on Carter Hart while Tyler Parsons stopped all five shots from Canada to help Team USA claim the gold medal with a 5-4 win over Canada on Thursday night in Montreal.

World Juniors Update: Carter Hart Steals the Show in Semis

It wasn’t meant to be a battle of the Flyers goalie prospects, but that’s what the semi-final match between Canada and Sweden turned into. Carter Hart was stellar, making 28 saves in relief and holding Sweden off the board the rest of the way in a 5-2 win for Canada that advanced them to Thursday’s Gold Medal game against USA.
