One person Thicke formed a good friendship with was Flyers founder Ed Snider, so much so that after Snider’s passing, Thicke emceed Snider’s memorial service in California.
It’s usually been slow starts at home for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this season. Wednesday night, they flipped the script by rushing out to a 5-1 lead. They then allowed Bridgeport to climb back in and tie the game at five, before ultimately winning by a final of 8-6.

The Flyers blue line took another hit on Monday. GM Ron Hextall announced that defenseman Mark Streit will be out two weeks with an upper-body injury.
The NHL named Jake Voracek its first star of the week for the week of Dec. 5-11. Voracek had nine points in four games during the week, including six assists.
