On Saturday, the Flyers get their first look at the East, facing the Carolina Hurricanes, who are off to a similar start at 1-1-2 on the season.

If you missed any of the Flyers 50th anniversary ceremony from the home opener on Thursday, take a look back at the 20-minute ceremony is complete with multiple intro videos, the light-up wristband light show, player introductions, video in memory of the Flyers we have lost over the years and the raising of the banner honoring Ed Snider.

Should Pierre-Edouard Bellemare be centering a line that should be expected to produce offensively or should he be playing where everyone expected him to be on the fourth line, where the offensive production isn’t as necessary as it is with the third?

On a night where the Phantoms honored Ed Snider with a touching pregame tribute and special jerseys that honored Snider’s beloved Flyers, Lehigh Valley was unable to pull out a win in a 5-2 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

For the fourth straight game, the Flyers got off to a slow start in the first period. They recovered from it again with a small outburst of offense in the second period, but failed to capitalize on special teams chances when they had a chance to put the game out of reach.

The Flyers struggled to get offense going against a tight-checking and strong defensive team in the Anaheim Ducks, and fell in the home opener, 3-2, on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Center.

A celebration is in store as the Flyers finally make their debut at home after three games on the road. Prior to the start of the home opener, the Flyers will celebrate the start of the 50th anniversary season in front of the home fans and pay tribute to founder and chairman Ed Snider against the Anaheim Ducks.

October 19, 1967, the Flyers took the ice for their first game at The Spectrum in Philadelphia and claimed a 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
