Finally, the 2015 NFL Draft is upon us. The event we've been waiting for since December 28th, the Philadelphia Eagles last game of the 2014 Season is nearly here. All the speculation about Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota will finally be put to rest. Or will it? The Eagles/Mariota machine appears to have a mind of its own.
This year the 2015 NFL Draft will be held April 30-May 2 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Chicago. This is the first time the NFL Draft will be held outside of New York City since 1964. According to reports, Chicago narrowly beat out Los Angeles for the event this year.
Round One will be televised on ESPN to a national audience Thursday, April 30, 2015 starting at 8:00 PM EST. The entire schedule listed below.
- Round 1: Thursday, April 30, 8 p.m. ET
- Rounds 2-3: Friday, May 1, 7 p.m. ET
- Rounds 4-7: Saturday, May 2, noon ET
- Location: Chicago's Auditorium Theatre
Although this is the third NFL Draft Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has been a part of, this is the first year he has full control of player personnel. So who knows what he will do. He's done nothing conventional since he became head coach January 16, 2013. Tomorrow promises to be a wild ride.
Kelly is on a different clock of sorts. He's put together two winning season for the Birds. But with the major changes he's made from cutting Washington Redskins DeSean Jackson at the end of the 2013 Season to trading running back LeSean McCoy a few weeks ago, he's on a short leash. If he can't win at least one playoff game this season it could be his last season with the birds. That's an extreme view but we are talking about Philadelphia Eagles fans. They're tired of waiting for a Super Bowl.
