While a number of Eagles continue to miss practice time due to nagging injuries, head coach Doug Pederson has been showing his team that the former NFL quarterback still has some ability of his own.
First, Pederson was seen simulating an upright defensive end rusher during drills as the quarterbacks worked on getting the ball out quickly to the halfback in the vacant space previously occupied by a blitzing linebacker. After having warmed up his legs, Pederson might have bit off a little more than he could chew at the NovaCare Complex.
Doug Pederson just tried to cover Darren Sproles in one-on-one coverage. He moved surprisingly well, but Sproles dusted him #Eagles

Jalen Mills (hamstring), Hunter Sharp (hamstring), Mike Martin (knee), Carson Wentz (ribs), Jordan Matthews (knee) and Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) did not practice at the NovaCare Complex on this final day of training camp. Pederson also announced that Kendricks, Martin, Matthews, Mills and Wentz will not play in Thursday's game against Pittsburgh.
It is looking more and more like the Eagles have settled on their offensive line as they prepare their starting units to see adequate playing time in the next two preseason games. From left to right: Jason Peters, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, and Allen Barbre have now made up the first-team offensive line for the fourth consecutive day at Eagles camp. Pederson announced that this would be the starting offensive line on Thursday.
In the midst of practice, news broke that the Philadelphia Eagles have acquired wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham from the Titans in a trade that sent offensive guard/tackle Dennis Kelly to Tennessee. Green-Beckham had 32 catches for 549 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie in 2015. An astonishing 93.8 percent of Green-Beckham’s catches last year went for first downs, which led the NFL among players with at least 32 receptions. Moreover, the Eagles new vertical threat averaged 17.2 yards per catch last year, leading all rookies.
Although "DGB" had a productive rookie season, the Titans have been down on the former Missouri Tiger with questions regarding his work ethic, alleging the 6'5", 237-pound receiver with sub-4.5 speed of reporting to camp out of shape.
From everything I’ve heard out of Titans camp, consistency was the biggest issue with DGB. Talent and physical skills clearly there.

Despite the questions surrounding his dependability, it’s clear that Green-Beckham has enormous potential, further illustrated by Mike Mayock’s draft analysis last year.
M.Mayock in '15:"He has significant off-field issues. However, he is a freakish height-weight-speed guy. He looks like a young Randy Moss."

It appears Green-Beckham has more in common with Moss than just his on-field skills. Had it not been for marijuana issues, which was part of the reason he was kicked off of the Missouri football team, Green-Beckham would’ve likely been a first-round pick. Additionally, Green-Beckham was accused of burglary and domestic violence which prompted his release by Mizzou head coach Gary Pinkel. Subsequent to the allegations, “D.G.B.” was selected 40th overall in 2015.
Updates of the action at Eagles practice were very scarce with the news of the trade breaking just as players were gearing up for team drills. Philadelphia will have a walk-through tomorrow morning as they prepare for their matchup against the Steelers on Thursday night.
