Major League Baseball announced the All-Star team participants on Sunday evening in another made-for-TV event. The Philadelphia Phillies will be well represented in the Midsummer Classic, the club will be sending a franchise record seven players to the 2024 MLB All Star Game in Arlington.
The Phils’ infield trio of Alec Bohm, Bryce Harper, and Trea Turner were already named as All Star Game starters. They will be joined by four pitchers —starters Ranger Suarez and Zack Wheeler along with relievers Jeff Hoffman and Matt Strahm— to complete the Philadelphia contingent. The seven Fightins’ representatives are the most since 2009 (5- Ryan Howard, Raul Ibanez, Chase Utley, Shane Victorino, and Jayson Werth) and eclipsed the previous record set by the 1953 Phillies (6- Richie Ashburn, Granny Hamner, Robin Roberts, Eddie Robinson, Curt Simmons, and Gus Zernial).
The 2024 MLB All Star Game is set for Tuesday, July 16 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. First pitch is set for 8:00 PM on Fox.
