There have been many different tributes that have poured in over the last month for Flyers owner and founder Ed Snider. Another one is coming to a television screen near you.
ABC's sitcom "The Goldbergs," a show that frequently references the Flyers and displays the iconic crest several times, has dedicated an episode to Snider's memory. The episode, titled "Big Orange," will air on Wednesday, May 11, at 8:30 p.m.
"The Goldbergs" is a show based on the life of writer and producer Adam Goldberg, who grew up in Jenkintown, Pa. and is a Flyers fan.
This is not the first time the Flyers are a central theme to an episode. In addition to the characters wearing Flyers gear, as they often do, an episode centered around Ron Hextall's first NHL goal was aired in 2014.
This episode will focus on middle son, Barry's, favorite Flyers t-shirt, which is stolen by his mother and girlfriend. Barry enlists the help of his siblings to investigate the whereabouts of the shirt.
