Just under three weeks remain until the 89th Major League Baseball All-Star Game gets underway at Nationals Park on Tuesday, July 17. On Monday, MLB released the latest weekly National League balloting update for starting position players vying to partake in the 2018 Midsummer Classic.
Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera remains the club's only position player to appear as a top vote-getter, with the 14th-most votes among National League outfielders. Herrera has fallen in the ballot rankings for the second straight week. He had the ninth-most votes among outfielders during the first update, but fell three spots to 12th overall in last week's update, gaining only 74,669 votes — the smallest increase among top vote-getters appearing on the first two ballot updates.
Herrera gained 110,637 votes this past week, the second fewest only to Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner (101,260). Since June 11, Herrera has the second-most home runs (6) and the fifth-highest batting average (.388), among those qualified. Current ballot standings are seen below, with MLB releasing the third update Monday afternoon:

Right-hander Aaron Nola — who leads the National League with a .818 winning percentage — is a sure lock to earn his first career All-Star nod. Whether other fellow Phillies join him down in the nation's capital is yet to be seen.
Voting on MLB.com, as well as the MLB Ballpark and MLB At Bat apps, ends next Thursday, July 5, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
