SALT LAKE CITY — The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed a minor league contract on Saturday with RHP Andrew Bailey, who will report to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bailey, 32, was 3-1 with a 6.40 ERA, 1.454 WHIP ratio and a 33-15 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 32 1/3 innings and 33 appearances this season with the Phillies.

The signing came one week after the Phillies granted the South Jersey native his release following being designated for assignment on August 2. The two-time All-Star and 2009 American League Rookie of the Year has been limited to 41 innings over the last three seasons due to injuries.

Other former Phillies currently on the Salt Lake Bees roster include right-handers A.J. Achter and Kyle Kendrick, as well as outfielder Quintin Berry.
