According to reports, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll traveled to State College on Sunday and had breakfast with former Penn State Nittany Lions defensive end Abdul Carter. In turn, Carter is expected to make the trip to East Rutherford, NJ on Thursday to meet with the rest of the Giants brass ahead of this month’s NFL Draft.

Despite being tied to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants are likely to hold steady at No. 3 and select either Carter or former Colorado Buffaloes standout Shedeur Sanders

The La Salle College High School product is considered one of the top defensive players in the NFL Draft. Some ranking services have Carter as high as the No.1 defensive player while others have him ranked as No. 2 behind former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter

A 2024 unanimous All-American and the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, Carter has made it known that he would welcome playing for his hometown Philadelphia Eagles. However, because they won the Super Bowl and aren’t dreck like the New York Giants, Carter will be well off the board by the time the Eagles are on the clock in Green Bay. Unless Howie Roseman pulls a wizard move. Hey, it could happen!

The 2025 NFL Draft is set for April 24-26 from the Titletown Complex in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
