As if this season wasn't bad enough, Phillies reliever Antonio Bastardo brought further disgrace to the Phillies organization today. According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Bastardo has accepted a 50-game suspension for his involvement with the Biogenesis doping lab. The suspension will be announced this afternoon and Bastardo will not pitch again this season.
The good news is, he will be eligible for the playoffs. Silver lining, right? The Phillies will have to add another player before tomorrow night's game against the Chicago Cubs. I cannot wait to see who it is.
