The Eagles and Redskins turned in an entertaining game on Sunday. But it wasn't close to the classic that came later on Sunday afternoon.
There were some good games on Sunday, but it was a Super Bowl rematch that stole the show.
In this week's Around the NFL, we look at the Seattle Seahawks win over the Denver Broncos.
Seattle has been the team to be this season. But after a loss to the Chargers in Week 2, they appeared to be coming down from the Super Bowl high.
It was a lopsided game at first. The Broncos offense was held down by the Seahawks Legion of Boom as they took a 14-point lead.
When Peyton Manning worked his magic in the second half, and most notably in the final 50 seconds of the fourth quarter, the game became an instant classic. The pass from Manning to Jacob Tamme that capped a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback for the Broncos helped send the game to overtime.
But the defending Super Bowl champions could not be stopped. After winning the toss, they drove down the field and claimed the win on a six-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch.
In taking a look around the NFL and focusing specifically on this game, we notice that not much has changed about the teams that power the NFL. The Broncos and Seahawks – for now – are still the class of the NFL and the best teams out there.
It was only Week 3, but there may not be a better regular-season game. And as many noted, this was the game that deserved to happen in February.
