Vikings head coach to have surgery: The Minnesota Vikings might be without head coach Mike Zimmer during Thursday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys due to emergency eye surgery, the team announced Wednesday.
Zimmer recently underwent another eye surgery back on Nov. 1 to repair a torn retina after he had scratched his eye during the team's game against the Chicago Bears–a procedure that likely saved him from going blind in his right eye.
If Zimmer is unable to coach Thursday's game, the Vikings have personnel on their staff with head coaching experience, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Vikings have contingency plan in place if Mike Zimmer is unable to coach vs Dallas. Two former HCs, Tony Sparano and Pat Shurmur, on staff.

Siemian day-to-day: Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian missed Wednesday's practice due to a sprained foot. He is listed as day-to-day.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Broncos don't believe the injury will cause the 24-year-old to miss multiple games, if any.

Despite wearing a protective boot, Siemian assured reporters that his foot is just "a little sore" and that it's "nothing too crazy," according to NFL.com.
Siemian had himself a career game during the team's heartbreaking 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday night, throwing for a career-high 368 yards and three touchdowns.
Siemian has thrown multiple touchdown passes in three straight games and has thrown for 250 yards or more in his last four.
Brady, Edelman and Gronk miss practice: The New England Patriots were without their three best offensive players during Wednesday's practice.
Quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski and receiver Julian Edelman were all absent from Wednesday's practice.

The absence seems to just be a rest day for the 39-year-old Brady, as he nurses a sore knee, Gronkowski's absence was due to a back issue he aggravated against the New York Jets last Sunday and Edelman continues to deal with a nagging foot injury that has plagued him all season.
The most concerning of the three is Gronkowski, who's injury dates back to the team's Nov. 13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks after he took a jarring hit from safety Earl Thomas.
The absence for Brady seems to just be a routine rest day to help reduce the swelling in his knee as the Patriots prepare for their final five games. Edelman's absence also looks to be routine as he nurses his foot injury. Gronk's absence appears to be the most concerning.
While Gronkowski's status for Sunday is uncertain, Brady and Edelman should be good to go.
