A few notes from around the pharm:
- Dom Brown made his sixth start in Center Field last night. His average is up to .257 following a two-hit, two runs scored doubleheader. Incidentally, fellow outfielder Derrick Mitchell drove in eight runs last night to get to 30 RBI's for the year, and he's also at .257. Cody Overbeck is at .283 with 28 RBI's, and has played a little third now to go with his first base time.
- After last night's two hit performance, Cesar Hernandez is hitting .313 at second base, with a .797 OPS. Darin Ruf hit his tenth homer, to go with a .344 average and 41 RBI's. Tyson Gillies is hitting .280 with 14 Extra-Base Hits. Gillies and Ruf are tied at 35 runs scored, to lead the team. Trevor May gave up five first inning runs today, and now has an ERA over five. Julio Rodriguez is off to a 3-0, 2.91 start this year in ten starts and 52.2 innings.
- In Clearwater, the news has been at third base- where Cody Asche is hitting .354 with an .850 OPS, while Carlos Alonso is at .318 with an .839 OPS. Jesse Biddle (2-2, 2.86), Adam Morgan (2-5, 3.55), and Austin Wright (5-0, 3.61) are all All-Star bound as starters.
- Not much has gone well in Lakewood this summer, but there are some bright spots. Kelly Dugan is at .270, with five homers, 15 extra-base hits, 16 RBI's, and an .841 OPS in 34 games.
That's all for now. All-Star games are coming up soon in the minors, and we'll get a good look at who the rest of the country likes from our teams.
