Things were shaping up for another exciting finish. That's when the Boston Bruins shifted into a gear the Flyers simply couldn't reach.

After playing to a 2-2 tie through 40 minutes, the Bruins scored two third-period goals to down the Flyers for the second time this week, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon from TD Garden.

The Bruins opened the scoring late in the first. A loose puck in front found it's way to the tape of David Krejci. The Flyers had missed on three clearing opportunities before that and Krejci was able to shovel it past Ray Emery to give the Bruins the lead.

The Flyers scored their first goal in nearly three games on the power play midway through the second. Wayne Simmonds took a wide shot from Mark Streit and snuck it past Tuukka Rask to even the score.

But just 18 seconds later, Milan Lucic blasted a shot from the slot to beat Emery and give the Bruins the lead back.

A nice spin move by Jay Rosehill helped the Flyers even the score late in the second as the Flyers enforcer tucked a shot past Rask.

The two teams played to stalemate through 13 minutes of the third. But the Bruins were clearly getting the better chances all period.

Finally, they broke through with 6:06 remaining in the third. Johnny Boychuk fired a shot past Emery for the eventual game-winning goal. Lucic added a second goal just 29 seconds later.

Chris Kelly would ice it with an empty-net goal with 21 seconds remaining.

The Flyers are now winless in their last four games, something that had not happened since January. They return to Wells Fargo Center on Sunday night to face the Buffalo Sabres.
