Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons had successful surgery to repair a fracture in his right foot earlier this month and since the procedure, the 2016 first overall pick has been absent from team functions and social media, which is normal after injury. Simmons made his first Instagram post in a little over two weeks.
Simmons suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the final day of Sixers training camp at Stockton University. He rolled his ankle and precautionary x-rays revealed a fracture in his right foot. The normal recovery period for the injury is approximately three months, putting Simmons on track to make his debut in December or January with the Sixers being extra cautious to prevent further damage.
In six Summer League games for Philadelphia, Simmons averaged 10.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
