Some help additional help could be on the way for the Philadelphia Flyers defense. Marc-Andre Bourdon, on injured reserve since suffering a concussion on Nov. 30, 2012, while still with the Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League.
Bourdon has tirelessly been working to get back from post-concussion syndrome. Sunday marked a huge milestone for Bourdon.
Bourdon joined the Flyers practice on Sunday wearing a non-contact jersey. GM Paul Holmgren announced that Bourdon has been cleared for contact and will begin a conditioning stint with the Phantoms this week.
Bourdon said that he is feeling well and is ready to go whenever the Flyers are ready for him. For now, he'll get back to game play in the AHL. Bourdon has a one-way contract, which means he'd have to play for the Flyers. The only way he can play in the AHL is on conditioning.
In 17 games in 2012-13 with the Phantoms, Bourdon scored one goal and added three assists. In 45 games with the Flyers in 2011-12, he scored four goals and recorded seven points.
