The Sixers have just shocked the world. After trading their star player for Nerlens Noel and a draft pick, they select Michael Carter-Williams out of Syracuse. Williams stands 6'6", weighing just over 180 pounds, so he will most likely take over at his natural point guard position.
I think this pick could go great for the Sixers, or it could go horribly wrong. Williams' athleticism is promising, but his inability to shoot on a consistent basis may be the downfall for his offensive game. Defensively he is very sound and has a high basketball IQ. He also has good vision for a point guard. In the best case scenario, Williams will become a point guard version of Andre Iguodala. Worst case scenario, he becomes a career bench warmer.
With the Sixers taking Williams at 11, this opens the door for them to go anywhere from another point guard to wing man or even a big guy with their second round picks.
Sixerdelphia will keep you posted on everything Sixers!
